Almost One!

I can't believe that my honestly little baby boy is going to be one in 13 days. Everyone says it so often, but it really seems like just yesterday that I was still pregnant. This year has been absolutely amazing. We have had so many incredible moments. We've shared so many memories both as parents and son & with family & friends. We've all had the pleasure of watching Dylan grow and develop a remarkable personality. When Dylan was first born I thought for sure he was going to be the most serious baby. It was the hardest thing in the world to try and get a smile out of him. You could make yourself look like a complete idiot and Dylan would not even crack a smile, it was hard to believe then that Dylan would turn into quite the comedian. He loves to make people laugh. It's hard to write memories without crying tears of both joy & sadness. I don't want to see my baby grow older, I'd like to keep him little forever - but at the same time it's all so exciting! Every day brings something new. He is always surprising me now!! Just today, as I was hairspraying my hair - Dyl was across the room he was making a "pssssssssssss" noise - he's such a smart boy. He picks up on the smallest things. Often I find that when I say "Dylan" he will now answer me with "What?"... He is now saying "Ish" (fish) "Kee" (Kitty) "Mama" "Dada" "Hi" (He's VERY good at this) "Bye Bye" "VROOOM" (If you count that as a word). He meows at that kitty. He's always on the move these days. And SO curious about everything. I LOVE it. I'm so thankful to have him in my life. He loves the outdoors. He is extra curious in the outdoors, I'm sure because he's been stuck inside all winter. It's been nice enough that every night after work & daycare, we've been going for a walk and then playing out on the deck for a while - Dyl usually rides his four wheeler for a while (such a boy!). It's actually a real struggle to get him to come inside at night. I think if he had it his way, he'd camp outside. He loves Daddy's fourwheeler. Although, he enjoyed the snowmobile a little more, we're thinking because the snowmobile was louder... Dylan really enjoys loud noises.

I took him to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Bath - all 5 minutes of it! It was very cute, Dyl was so excited about all of the cars coming by... "VROOOOOOOOM!"... I thought for sure that he would be scared by the firetruck siren, didn't make a peep. He loved the entire parade. After, we went swimming with his cousins - at first, he didn't really care about it at all - towards the end he started splashing, kicking his feet (with the help of Mommy) So I'm thinking I'll try to take him every weekend... Everyday he is more and more fun. We have so much to look forward to in the future, and so so much to be thankful for. He is just such a beautiful amazing little boy. I know the next year is just going to be so many more memories and more fun!
