Our baby is growing!
New Words
Dylan now says "up" which is pronounced, aah-pppp (emphasis on the 'p'). He also says "buh-bye" which sounds similar to baa-baa, but he waves his arm. He says hi, and hey, mama, and once in a great while he will say dada - but very rarely.
Big Boy Food
Dylan has been eating more and more big boy foods. For breakfast he usually has a wheat waffle and apple pieces. Today at lunch he had pieces of turkey, american cheese and peeled grapes. He LOVES toast and biscuits. Well, he loves pretty much everything. He loves to eat whatever you are eating, especially if it's sweet. He loves yogurt, puffs, pancakes, fruit, graham crackers, and banana crackers. He is really great at drinking out of a big boy cup too, with no cover!
Growing Boy
Dylan can sometimes fit into 6-9 month pants now! Usually 3-6 months, but he's starting to get taller. His belly continues to grow larger and more round, which makes it hard to find pants that will fit his big old belly and very short legs :) Oh, and for those who haven't seen him in a while, his hair is getting longer and CURLY!
New Tricks
Climbing, climbing and more climbing. Occasionally he takes a few steps, but knows he will to his destination much faster by crawling, so he prefers to crawl. High five, this is the funniest thing to him. He also likes low five of course. He points to "mama's nose". LOVES his pointer finger these days, loves to poke! And as I said in the previous post, he's learned that he is quite the comedian.

Comedian

Dylan has figured out that if he does certain things, people will laugh at him. He loves it. He is constantly trying to do new "tricks" and looks around to make sure people are watching - if no one laughs, he does it again and again until someone cracks a smile. He's such an entertainer and so darn cute! His latest trick is dumping water on himself. He often drinks from a big boy cup with no lid. Yesterday, he was doing this and tipped the cup up too far - water all over him! Of course, we laughed - so the second time he held the cup up to his mouth then put it down really fast, quickly looking up to make sure I was going to laugh. Such a character!

Peanut!
Dylan had his 9 month Well Child Check today, he is in the 5th percentile - meaning 95% of babies are larger than him. (He wore his 3-6 month size pants today) Everything went well. Developmentally, he is ahead of where he should be - but we already knew he was smart cookie. He had 3 shots and he laughed at the nurses. He cried for maybe 2 seconds? Then was laughing all over again. He also had to have his blood drawn to test for anemia, because he is so small, and to test the lead levels in his body. He was so brave! Again, he cried for less than 2 seconds and it was purely because he was being "pinned" still.
He's such an amazing little boy. He completes our life - every day is such a blessing when we get to spend it with him. You honestly never know how wonderful parenthood is until you experience it for yourself.

Pat-A-Cake

Dylan has recently learned to clap to pat-a-cake. He loves it, but his FAVORITE part is to "mark it with a D" - he loves to hold his pointer finger out. We've been practicing together, but this morning I noticed he was clapping on his own and holding his pointer out so he could "mark it". He's just so darn cute!

Family Dinner
Tonight we went to Grandma & Grandpa's for dinner. Auntie Christine, Uncle Mark, Kaden & Mackinna were there too. Dylan wasn't interested in anyone really, except for Kaden and Salice (Mackinna's heavy baby that sits on her hip). If Dylan had his way, he would have smooched them all night. I'm not sure if he thought Salice was not breathing or what, but I could have sworn he was practicing his CPR techniques.
Dylan still seems small, he still wears 6 month clothes... however, for dinner tonight he ate... carrotts, banana & strawberry, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, graham crackers and probably could have kept going. No wonder his belly is the largest part on him!

Sleds!
Shawn was out on his sled today. Every time Dylan saw him he would say "Vrooom, vrooom!" he was so excited. Finally, Dylan got a turn on Daddy's sled... this will be the first time he didn't spit up after his snowmobile ride. Yay!
Dylan's first time in his very own red sled! Can't you tell by his facial expression how much he loved it!?
